"Sir" Keir Starmer announced his resignation as British Prime Minister today, although he will stay on until the Labour Party chooses another leader, who will then become Prime Minister in Starmer's place. That person will probably be Andy Burnham, formerly mayor of Greater Manchester whose election as an MP for Makerfield last week put the final nail in Starmer's political coffin, as Burnham stated that if elected to Parliament he would challenge Starmer for leadership of the Labour Party.
