Tea and Vitriol

Yesterday there were numerous "No Kings" protests across America. According to the liberal news media, three million people participated, exercising their constitutional right to assembly and free speech. That sounds like quite a lot, until you remember that number is far less than one percent of the population of the United States. The remaining 99.9% of Americans couldn't be bothered with them. They went about their lives, either mildly amused by the protests, or disgusted by them, or apathetic to them. The protesters were congratulated by aged actress Jane Fonda, who has forever placed herself at the forefront of any anti-establishment movement, which just goes to show you the delusion prevalent among celebrities that they are very influential. Woke progressive liberals needed no encouragement from her to protest the government. So, what was the result? Apart from shouting themselves hoarse and leaving trails of litter in their wake?  Apparently, The Donald is a bit confused. As well as pissed. He claimed that the US had already won its war against Iran while the war is still ongoing. Then he "invited" NATO nations to send battleships to protect commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, through which 20% of the world's oil supply must travel and which Iran has effectively closed off. This has created a global energy crisis. The Persian Gulf region also produces about 40% of the world's fertilizer, the loss of which will undoubtedly result in global food shortages. Actually, The Donald didn't so much as invite NATO nations to participate as to threaten them if they didn't, which is his typical bullying tactic, which has largely worked before. Only it's not working now. Saying "bad things will happen to NATO" if that alliance doesn't participate isn't working. Not this time. NATO was originally conceived as a defensive alliance after WW II aimed at containing the exp...

The answer is simple: We didn't.  Having been goaded into this latest war against Iran by Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, both The Donald and Benny expected a quick victory. Massive bombings of both military and civilian targets were supposed to cause Iran to sue for peace on both The Donald and Benny's terms, which were unconditional surrender. It didn't happen. The war was supposed to cause Iran's regime to collapse. It didn't happen. The war was supposed to end the theocracy of the ayatollahs and substitute a puppet leader subservient to Benny and The Donald. It didn't happen. Both The Donald and Benny broadcast encourage to the Iranian people to rise against their government. It didn't happen. Here it became clear that both men were deluding themselves. Despite his statement that the US has already won his war against Iran, the truth is that The Donald hasn't. Far from it. Our so-called, self-appointed "Peace President" has twice in the last year has sent weapons of mass destruction against Iran, in conjunction with Israel.  In fact, it was Israel's Benjamin Netanyahu that precipitated both incidents, and The Donald was forced to go along with it in order to save face. The first incident led to "peace" negotiations, which really went nowhere, and were promptly abandoned to begin this second war. Once again, Benny was the chief instigator of the current war. Benny's political career in Israel requires perpetual wars to keep himself in power and out of jail. Any possibility of a neutralized Iran without nuclear capabilities would be a threat to him. So, Iran would have to be destroyed in a war where Israel was a major participant so he could look like a hero and cement his leadership role in his own count...

The latest chapter in the wars against Iran is on! And The Donald and Benny have seriously miscalculated this one. On Friday, in broad daylight, The Donald and Benny attacked Iran. The day before, The Donald didn't get the complete capitulation of Iran in meetings to eliminate the ayatollahs' nuclear capacity for all time, to reduce its military strike capacity and to end its support of proxies in the Middle East whose intent is the utter destruction of the State of Israel. Such acquiescence would have reduced Iran to the position of a US puppet. During these meetings there was NO mention of moderating Iran's repressive regime on its own people, nor of a change in regime. The simple fact is that The Donald and Benny don't give two shits about the Iranian people. They wanted Iran to be defanged, weakened and no longer a threat to US and Israeli interests. The Donald doesn't take rejection well, so on Friday morning he and his relatively faithful lapdog Benny attacked...

The European Union, at first glance, appears to be a powerful geo-political entity. Composed of most of the "democracies" of the Western European continent, including the economic powerhouse of Germany, it has tried to pose as one of the world's superpowers. Only it isn't. Comprised of frequently quarreling member states, possessed of a complicated and cumbersome constitutional framework that reveals its impotence daily in the European Parliament, its much-touted successes have always been dependent on the military might of the United States to protect it from itself and the threats to it posed by Russia and her allies. NATO was supposed to act as a deterrent to Russian aggression, at which it has failed repeatedly. Despite all of its economic and industrial potential, the European Union really only ranks as a second-rate power, although it has postured as something far greater. Until yesterday.
