The bromance between the world's most powerful man, US President Donald Trump and the world's richest man, Elon Musk has ended. It was inevitable that the relationship would end, because both men are too similar for any bromance to last. Both are narcissists. Both are exhibitionists, perpetually seeking the spotlight and taking center stage. The only thing that prevents them from donning trench coats and seeking the thrill of exposing themselves on streetcorners is that neither of them are blessed with faces or figures that make such actions amusing or interesting to others. Unfortunately, Elon forgot that The Donald IS the President of the United States and, while The Donald likes to associate with strong and powerful men, He also demands to be surrounded by "yes men." Pope Francis is dead. Long live Pope Leo XIV!  Elected on the fourth ballot during Conclave, the former Cardinal Robert Prevost has chosen to take as his regnal name Pope Leo XIV and has thus become the spiritual leader of the 1.4 billion Roman Catholics worldwide. The process of Conclave has been made much of in the media the last two days and was the subject of at least two recent films: "Angels and Demons" and "Conclave." I therefore will not bore you further with the process. However, I will point out that Conclave began yesterday and was concluded at noon today, making it one of the shortest in history. America's second lady, Usha Vance, announced three days ago that she planned to visit Greenland to attend the dogsled races and visit cultural and historic sites. In an obviously ghost-written, prepared bland speech, the second lady referred to the warm relations between Greenland and the United States, speaking of their mutual respect and affection for each other. That might have been true once, but President Trump's bombastic statements about either buying Greenland or simply taking the island because America needs it has ruined that sentiment, probably forever. Madame Vance also failed to mention in her speech that she would be accompanied by Trump's National Security Advisor Mike Waltz and Energy Secretary Chris Wright. Greenland's government was already aware of their intended visit and produced more than a little bit of anxiety, since those two men were rabid for the US to annex Greenland.  During President Trump's re-election campaign, he stated that he could end the war in Ukraine in one day. He didn't. But he could have. After his inauguration, President Trump could have told Russia's President Putin to stand down and submit to a peace deal of America's devising or risk the US providing Ukraine with unlimited money, war materiel and means of mass destruction, giving Ukraine permission to use such weapons against Russian territory and civilian targets. Just like Russia is doing to Ukraine. Only he didn't. Instead, Trump demanded that Ukraine come crawling to him to beg his intervention and accept whatever peace plan Trump and Putin would devise, regardless of the long-term consequences. Even worse, President Trump agreed with Putin's demands regarding the end of the war and the future of Ukraine, which would ultimately result in that nation's absorption into Russia and the extermination of Ukrainian culture. It was preordained and all of the actions of the Norse gods centered around preparing for the final battle between good and evil. On Monday, January 20, 2025, twenty minutes before his presidency ended, Sloppy Joe Biden fired his final, insulting shot at the American people. Among other noteworthy, morally bankrupt associates, Sloppy Joe issued a blanket preemptive presidential pardon of his two brothers, his sister and their spouses. In short, the Biden Crime Family. It should have come as no surprise that he would do so. Despite claiming for months that he would not issue such a pardon for his drug-addicted, whore-mongering son Hunter if he was convicted of any crimes, he finally did so, citing a father's love of his child. In that, he was true to his usual form. He was lying to the American people.
