The Second Lady to Visit Greenland: A Prelude to its Annexation?

America's second lady, Usha Vance, announced three days ago that she planned to visit Greenland to attend the dogsled races and visit cultural and historic sites.

In an obviously ghost-written, prepared bland speech, the second lady referred to the warm relations between Greenland and the United States, speaking of their mutual respect and affection for each other.

That might have been true once, but President Trump's bombastic statements about either buying Greenland or simply taking the island because America needs it has ruined that sentiment, probably forever.

Madame Vance also failed to mention in her speech that she would be accompanied by Trump's National Security Advisor Mike Waltz and Energy Secretary Chris Wright.

Greenland's government was already aware of their intended visit and produced more than a little bit of anxiety, since those two men were rabid for the US to annex Greenland.

However, they would be heading straight for the US military station in Greenland to review and inspect its security and operational equipment, which raised even more red flags in Greenland.

As for Madame Vance's intended visit?

Greenland's Prime Minister Mute Egede has stated that the second lady's visit is a clear act of provocation, a covert reconnaissance mission and that neither Greenland nor Denmark invited them to come, anyway.

Madame Vance claims that she WAS invited. We can chalk that up to a "credibility gap<" a phrase commonly used during the Nixon years denoting an outright lie.

Parent used to spank kids for lying.

Both the Greenlanders and the Danes have repeatedly stated that Greenland is not for sale, which the Trump regime is choosing to ignore.

And both see Madame Vance's "diplomatic mission" in terms of a Trojan Horse or Mati Hari in action.

Since Greenland has no intention of providing Madame Vance and the rest of them with a warm welcome, her itinerary has been altered.

The Vice President will be accompanying his wife to Greenland "for security purposes," since they fear an unfriendly welcome that would delight the news media across the globe.

There is no mention if one of their children will be accompanying them, as Madame Vance suggested earlier.

Apparently, the cultural aspects of Madame Vance's trip have also been scrapped, fearing that protests will greet her wherever she goes.

So, she and her husband will also be heading to the US military base for "consultation."

About what, especially since it is unclear what proficiency Madame Vance has in such discussions?

Perhaps they will be debating annexing Greenland while the two of them are present, using the negative backlash caused by Madame Vance's impending visit to invade and conquer Greenland?

That is not as far-fetched as it sounds.

Despite being the world's largest island, Greenland has a population of only 56,000 souls.

Its defense has been left up to Denmark (somewhat) and the US (mostly).

It is the already extant US military presence in Greenland that would allow America to simply take over and declare the territory to be a US possession.

We know neither Trump, nor Vance nor the rest of the Trump regime cares much what anyone would say because nobody really could do much about the US annexing Greenland forcibly.

Madame Vance's visit would be seen as a step in that direction.

Unfortunately, her charm offensive failed before it had even begun.

Now, with the Vice President and his bully-boy ways entering the picture and accompanying his wife to Greenland, its annexation might occur even faster than anyone imagined.

The Vances are now supposed to land in Greenland on Friday, giving the vice president an additional day to gobble down extra testosterone pills to increase his belligerent nature.

I would not be surprised if the US annexes Greenland by Saturday.

And the world shouldn't be, either.

It's in the cards.

The motto for the Trump Administration should be ainsi sera, groigne qui groigne: That is the way it's going to be, grumble though they may.

Maybe President Trump will let the Vances rule Greenland as his viceroys.

Then Madame Vance can really learn about Greenland's culture and history!
