The Tangled Scales of Justice for Steve Amenhauser.

It was Friday, March 5, 2021, in the dying city of Rochester, New York. In a decaying neighborhood on Lyell Avenue, a 53-year-old man, recently widowed, was living out his life in poverty. Two feral urban humanoid teenagers, 14 and 16, doused him with a flammable liquid and set fire to him. The police were called and promptly took the teenagers into custody. They were in the area, still sticking around presumably to admire their handiwork. The man was taken to hospital with second and third degree burns over 70% of his body, from which he succumbed on Tuesday, March 9. On Friday, March 12, the two teenage monsters were charged with second degree murder. There was only perfunctory coverage by the media of this incident. The elected members of our "august" City Council said absolutely nothing about this horrific crime, especially the district city councilman in whose constituency this crime occurred. There was silence from the then-Mayor of Rochester's office and her admini

Sorry, Progressive Liberals: It's "Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah!"

The Christmas season is upon us again. And Hanukkah. Both are religious holidays. Christmas celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ, whom all Christian faiths regard as mankind's savior. Hanukkah celebrates the purification and rededication of Solomon's temple after it was defiled by the Hellenizing actions of the Seleucid Empire. As such, the proper greeting this time of year would be "Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah." Especially in years like this one, where the holidays overlap. Yes, both holidays feature gift-giving and as such a great deal of commercialism. But still, it is a happy time of year for most people, who will still use the greeting "Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah" when they meet people. It takes us back to an earlier, less complicated time when people were less apt to take offense at everything, when such greetings produced a warm and fuzzy feeling inside. I am referring to the days before progressive liberalism sought to pervert traditio

Our 53rd Homicide of the Year so Far: Rochester, New York's Murder Marathon Continues!

Image
Last year, our fair city had the fifth highest homicide rate in the nation. Per capita, we were the deadliest. Not bad, considering that Rochester, New York is a middle-sized city of only 210, 000 souls. Nowhere near the size of New York City or Chicago. Early this morning, at Ontario Beach Park, a man in his 30's was shot and killed. There had been a crowd at the parking lot of the beach. They promptly dispersed when the police showed up to investigate...after 3:30 AM! What the Hell were people doing out there at 3:30 in the morning, when everything out there closes up shop by 2 AM? Who knows? What we do know is that the current mayoral regime of Malik Evans has been totally ineffective in developing strategies to curtail violence apart from a lot of talk. That's all he and his administration are good for. His answer to our frequent homicides, as well as non-fatal shootings and stabbings, has been to declare a "State of Emergency" to calm those people who still have
