  Larry the Cat, Mouser in chief at Number 10 Downing Street, has just welcomed his seventh Prime Minister in his 15 years in residence there. That is no mean feat. Far more popular than any of the official political residents at Number 10, Larry the Cat has seen it all. From the yutz  parade of Conservative Prime Ministers to the black comedy of "Sir" Keir Starmer's quick rise and fall, despite the historic victory of the Labour Party in 2024, Larry the Cat has endured and survived them all. So, what does he make of it? Probably not much. The Disunited Kingdom has been a state of political, social and economic crisis even before Larry's residence there, but it really only came to a head with the asininity of Brexit from the European Union and the ineptitude of the Conservatives' handling of COVID. July 4, 2026, is the 250th anniversary of the Second Continental Congress adopting the Declaration of Independence, which broke with the United Kingdom and ended its dominion over the 13 American colonies. It is, therefore, America's 250th birthday. Yet, as an American, I cannot get worked up about it. I am old enough to remember the Bicentennial. We had just survived the nightmares of the Vietnam War and President Nixon's Watergate scandal, which almost destroyed America and brought the Nixon regime crashing down in ruins. However, the Bicentennial helped put that behind us. It was a celebration of America and Americans, with festivities across our nation celebrating that fact, televised so that people who could not be present would be able to witness them, both here and abroad. Let's face it, Larry the Cat has been the only dependable personality at Number 10 Downing Street for the last fifteen years. As "Mouser in Chief," Larry has been more popular than most British politicians and has lasted at Number 10 longer than any of them, He has seen five prime ministers come and go in that time. Today, that number rose to six! "Sir" Keir Starmer announced his resignation as British Prime Minister today, although he will stay on until the Labour Party chooses another leader, who will then become Prime Minister in Starmer's place. That person will probably be Andy Burnham, formerly mayor of Greater Manchester whose election as an MP for Makerfield last week put the final nail in Starmer's political coffin, as Burnham stated that if elected to Parliament he would challenge Starmer for leadership of the Labour Party. Let's face it. The Donald is a rude, crude boor. He has become just as much an embarrassment as Sloppy Joe Biden and Kamelhead Harris ever were. Even worse are The Donald's delusions that he is lord god king of the universe and a messiah that was personally sent by God. The Donald has offended friends and foes alike, ignoring the facts that our foes are NOT frightened by him and that our friends are slowly but surely disengaging themselves from the US. Let's face it, The Donald's second administration has been an utter failure both domestically and globally. He has been unable to fulfill any of the campaign promises he made. That is NOT unusual among politicians seeking election to public office. However, the promises he made were so exorbitant that his inability to realize them make them even more glaring. So, he lies and tells everyone that his agenda has been successful when everyone can see that he hasn't been. Apart from pissing off friend and foe alike, The Donald's only successes have been to bomb fishing boats in the Caribbean Sea, kidnap Venezuela's Maduro and bully his successor there into submission.   Let's face it, The Donald has become a tiresome boor. While he has always been a boor, and an egotistical one at that, the boor has become a bore. And a lying one at that, with delusions of grandeur and a God complex that is supported by his equally ignorant and arrogant Cabinet and MAGA radicals. Ethically, morally and spiritually bankrupt the lot of them, they are caught in the trap of having to give all to a bloodthirsty, war mongering "Messiah" or be thrust back into the social and political darkness from whence they crawled out of.
