America in Bizarro World: My Peerless Political Prognostications for the Midterm Elections!
For the record, let me state that neither the Democrats nor Republicans exhibit every or any political virtues to be found under Heaven.
Politicians of both parties have achieved their successes by demagoguery to demonize their opponents.
While this has allowed them victories within their own spheres of influence, their constant harangues have never achieved slam dunk victories that have given either party super majorities in Congress.
For the average American, this means that nothing has really changed, no matter which group of scalawags get razor thin majorities in Congress.
This polarization has resulted in apathy among most of the electorate.
If people vote at all, and those numbers are pretty dismal considering what is usually at stake, they tend to vote against something rather than for a candidate.
And this, despite their protests, suits politicians just fine.
Most seek election to public office to take advantage of the abundant opportunities to enrich themselves and their families through corruption.
The few well-intentioned candidates, usually first timers, are quickly corrupted by a system that is not meant to reward virtue.
Part of elections in the so-called "free democracies" is to brand all registered voters of opposing political parties as "evil," thus eliminating the need for orderly debate or discussion about the real issues facing ordinary Americans.
Podcasters like Rachel Maddow, Jack Cocchiarella and Ben Shapiro are notorious for this practice, which does not endear them to people of opposing views, nor does it have any effect beyond their target groups or fan base.
Their hatreds are made manifest to all.
Therefore, if Democrats see all Republicans as evil, the corollary is that all Republicans are justified in feeling the very same way about Democrats.
Which brings us back to this year's midterm elections.
I predict that the Democrats, will retake the House of Representatives, but not by as much as they hope.
Democrats are giddy with anticipation about this near certainty, so they can impeach The Donald again, for the third time!
Unfortunately, I also predict that the Republicans will retain their hold on the Senate, although with a reduced, razor thin majority.
This will preclude The Donald's conviction when the Democratic House begins the impeachment process, which means that the whole thing will be a waste of time, effort and money.
Even should the Democrats win a razor thin majority in the Senate, which is doubtful, they still won't have enough senators to guarantee The Donald's conviction.
No matter what happens, the current government will remain in place until January 2027, which is nearly two whole months for the Trump regime to wreak even more havoc on America and the world!
Should the Democrats win both Houses of Congress (unlikely), The Donald could issue a "State of Emergency" decree (because of his war against Iran), suspending the constitution and preventing the transition of power to the Democrats in January.
THAT is a distinct possibility, because there is nothing that The Donald won't do to soother his ego or preserve his ability to make mischief on a global scale.
We have seen that it is nigh impossible to remove corrupt, evil or incompetent politicians from office with the existing constitutional mechanisms to do so, and we are now under the regime of a man and his cronies who are unconcerned with the niceties of law, morality or ethics.
As I have already stated, the Democrats are giddily anticipating the outcome of the midterm elections in their favor.
And, as I have already stated, the Democrats will have some limited success.
But The Donald might play his trump (pun intended) card, which could prevent them from enjoying it.
Such is the danger of having a madman for president.
