The Donald as "The Sorcerer's Apprentice:" No Rhyme, Reason or Solution.
Every culture on Earth has their version of the old tale "The Sorcerer's Apprentice," where a student of the mystic arts unleashes the Dark Forces in his master's absence and cannot exorcise them when they get out of control.
Disney's "Fantasia" features a delightful retelling of that tale, with Mickey Mouse as the sorcerer's apprentice.
Unfortunately, for both the US and the world, The Donald has taken over that role.
While The Donald IS a rodent, he is not nearly so loveable as Mickey Mouse.
The effects have been nothing short of disastrous for everyone but The Donald, the Trump Crime Family, their cronies and Israel's Benjamin Netanyahu, who is The Donald's particular partner in crime.
War crimes, that is.
The world has seen The Donald unleash the Dark Forces when he sought to annex Canada and Greenland, when he threatened to withdraw from NATO, with his on and off again support for Ukraine, with his erratic imposition of illegal tariffs on most of America's trading partners, with his kidnapping of Venezuela's president and his attempts to buy American votes for the mid-term elections for $5 grand a head.
We have seen The Donald lock horns with the Pope, portray himself as Jesus Christ and treat international law as something that does not apply to him or his administration.
His henchman Benjamin Netanyahu feels much the same about the latter.
But is The Donald and Benny's unprovoked war against Iran that has had the worst global repercussions, disrupting the industrial world's supply of oil necessary to modern industrial economies.
The Donald never counted on Iran closing the Strait of Hormuz, unleashing forces he can't control.
Despite all of The Donald's lies that we have "won" the war, we haven't.
It not only continues but continues to spread throughout the Near East with no end in sight.
Despite the Arab Gulf States that have had such warm, business relations with the Trump Crime Family depending on US protection against Iran, The Donald and Benny's unprovoked attack on Iran has left them in the lurch.
The Donald can't protect them from Iran, which they have learned to their dismay.
And having made enemies of America's oldest friends, trade partners and military allies, they are unwilling to pull his chestnuts out of fires that he created.
They have learned that The Donald's word means nothing, that trade agreements with The Donald mean nothing, that military alliances with The Donald mean nothing.
With his credibility completely shot, they have cautiously pulled away from America, still paying him some lip service because, as demented and delusional as The Donald is, he is STILL the most powerful man on Earth and therefore needs to be handled with care.
As for the United States, its government has proved itself to be both unable and willing to remove a dangerously unbalanced president from office, or any high-ranking elected official for that matter.
Which is why Washington DC can rightly be described as a "swamp" or a "cesspit."
Too many politicians from either party wax fat on the corruption there to want to take any serious action to remove clearly dangerous individuals from office.
Our government will not provide the solution to the Dark Forces unleashed by The Donald playing at being the sorcerer's apprentice.
Yet, solutions DO exist. Hard ones, guaranteed to piss off The Donald and his buddies.
One solution is for the Arab countries that comprise the Gulf States is to make a separate peace with Iran, replacing US dominance in the region with Iran.
Difficult, to be sure, but it WOULD get the oil flowing again, which all of The Donald's blustering and lies hasn't been able to do.
That is, if they have the guts to do it.
The same thing goes for our other trade partners and military allies.
Since The Donald is undependable and his actions are erratic, do without him.
And stop coddling him.
Canada's Carney, Spain's Sanchez and Italy's Meloni have done it. Others should follow their brave lead.
While The Donald will probably still be in office until January 20, 2029, no matter how badly the mid-term elections go against his chosen candidates, can the world really count on no other US president being as crazy as he is in the future?
Hopefully, both the world and the American people will have learned their lessons.
In the meantime, we have more than two years of The Donald left.
Hopefully the world will still be spinning when he departs the White House.
