The Donald's Imperial Presidency: "Ainsi Sera, Groigne Qui Groigne!"

 "Ainsi sera, groigne qui groigne!"

"That is how it is going to be, grumble though they may."

This is clearly the motto of The Donald's imperial presidency...on a global scale.

While I am the first to admit that I voted for Trump for president the last three times, and I agree with most of his domestic policies, it is his global adventuring that, at best, leave me muddled.

At worst, I am opposed to many of them, since they are making enemies of our erstwhile friends.

In a sense, The Donald's international blustering, bullying and threats ARE understandable, compensating for the disastrous four years of Sloppy Joe Biden's dismal regime, that made the US a laughingstock on the international scene while remaining the world's piggy bank.

But there IS such a thing as overcompensating, which is what The Donald is now doing on a global scale.

He is scaring the shit out of most of the "leadership" of the European Union, who are heavily dependent upon whatever largesse The Donald deigns to grant them in terms of trade and financial support for a disintegrating NATO.

These are the so-called western "democracies," most of which are willing to turn blind eyes to dictators like Turkey's Erdogan and the various oil-rich Arab monarchies, despite their continuous human rights offenses.

When it suits them.

Admittedly, The Donald is megalomaniacal narcissist who knows what buttons to push among the Americal people, especially after the disaster that was the Biden regime.

But it is clear that The Donald knows little about economics, geography or history.

Which doesn't prevent him from making outlandish statements about those topics, most of which are readily disproven.

His claims that he has solved eight wars since reentering the Oval Office a year ago have proved to be false, just as his claims that he deserved the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts and was cheated out of it is delusional.

But he has wasted US money, material and men pursuing war-like aims against the Houthis of Yemen and the Ayatollahs of Iran, which hasn't solved anything.

But he has claimed victories there.

The Donald has claimed that Nicolas Maduro of Venezuela was running a drug cartel and proceeded to bomb fishing vessels he claimed were carrying illicit drugs into the US...with no proof.

Ultimately, he had Maduro kidnapped and brought to the US to stand trial for his "offenses," claiming that the US will run Venezuela for a while until they get back on their feet there.

Of course, this is bullshit and The Donald's actions violated international law, for which he is being universally condemned.

But why should he care? Who can do anything to him?

Nobody, that's who.

Secure in the fact that he can do anything he wants, The Donald is stepping up his actions to acquire Greenland from Denmark, saying it is vital to US security.

This, too, is bullshit.

He wants it to surround Canada and, ultimately, to force that nation into the US as our "cherished 51st state."

He wants Greenland's vast mineral wealth, that is hidden underneath all of its ice, making extraction extremely difficult and expensive at a time when the US has an unsustainable debt, and The Donald's international posturing is only making it worse.

He wants Greenland for the sake of acquiring more territory for the US, just like believing that building a $300 million dollar ballroom in the White House is necessary, a monument to his imperial presidency.

Neither are necessary.

It is his overwhelming ego that is talking here.

And, quite bluntly, if he wants Greenland, he would be able to take it without much fuss.

The native population of Greenland is less that 60,000 souls.

Despite the whining of Denmark and other European leaders, who sent a token force of less than two dozen people to Greenland to show their solidarity with the natives, who do NOT want to become part of the US, they wouldn't be able to stop The Donald if that eventuality occurs.

Or, rather, when it occurs.

The world's complacency and laziness regarding the US have led to this state of affairs.

But that is how it is going to be, grumble though they may!

I wonder which country is next.

Cuba? The Panama Canal? The Bahamas? Bermuda?

Well, The Donald has three more years to decide.

And, of course, they will all be smaller, weaker countries.
