The Donald Would Waltz With the Trim Russian Bear and the War Dragged On!

First of all, The Donald never solved any wars that he has taken credit for, which doesn't stop him from repeating that lie.

Perhaps he hopes that if he repeats it enough it will become fact.

We know that he is a narcissistic megalomaniac and a blowhard, ready to speak his mind in season and out, refusing to be influenced by the facts.

Which means that he is delusional as well.

Secondly, while he can bully weaker countries (most larger states do, whether or not you care to admit that), he has run into brick walls with China, India, Brazil and now Venezuela, who are not cowed by The Donald's tariff antics and saber-rattling.

India, in particular, has faced The Donald's wrath for NOT bowing down to his demand that they cease purchasing Russian oil.

They have been offended by The Donald's statement that India is responsible for the war in Ukraine by buying Russian oil and therefore keeping Russia's economy able to continue its military campaign.

Never mind the fact that China is the biggest purchaser of Russian oil and that the European Union, despite all of its sanctions against Russia, is the biggest purchaser of Russian gas!

Never mind the fact that, despite all of the US's sanctions against Russia, trade between them has increased by 20% this year!

Do you notice a strong whiff of hypocrisy and mendacity here?

The Donald wants to control the narrative, only he's slipping up too much too often for people not to notice, nor take his pronouncements at face value any longer.

Finally, there's the ongoing bromance between The Donald and Russia's Putin, which doesn't preclude harsh words about the other being spoken in public on occasion.

Little lovers' spats.

Two weeks ago, The Donald invited Putin to a media circus in Alaska, where they could pretend to discuss ending the war in Ukraine.

Ukraine's President Zelenskyy, of course, was not invited.

It came out later that they discussed trade deals.

The Donald and his PR team later claimed that he was satisfied with the meeting, which lasted only two hours, and that a lot had been accomplished.

A lot of nothing, that is.

In the absence of Zelenskyy, Putin's diplomat, Sergey Lavrov, was present.

He was sporting a USSR sweatshirt.

It's an open secret, known to all those who aren't politically deaf, dumb and blind that Putin plans to recreate the defunct Soviet Union.

But Putin DID invite The Donald to Moscow.

Two days later, Zelenskyy with European "leaders" in tow, came to Washington DC and The Donald to hammer out a peace plan and prepare for a future meeting, somewhere, sometime, between Putin and Zelenskyy.

They were all play acting at being important. They failed to realize that they had no way to impose their peace plan and were oblivious to Putin's stated goals for provoking this war, despite the fact that Putin has repeatedly made clear to them as to what terms he would find acceptable to end hostilities.

Undeterred by their own impotence, the proceeded to come up with an incredibly vague peace plan that they hoped wouldn't be too offensive to Zelenskyy, their own governments and Putin.

Lavrov promptly shot it down.

Despite The Donald claiming that there would be "land swaps," Lavrov said that this was unacceptable and that Putin wanted all four of Ukraine's provinces that they were occupying in their entirety, including parts that they hadn't invaded yet.

As for The Donald's vague promises of security for what would be left of a much-reduced Ukraine, with the European Union providing "boots on the ground" as a peacekeeping force, Lavrov stated that any foreign troops in Ukraine were unacceptable to Putin.

In fact, Putin has repeatedly demanded that Ukraine be demilitarized with its army reduced to a mere internal police force.

It will be so much easier to conquer the rest of Ukraine at a later date that way.

Furthermore, Lavrov stated that Putin could never meet with Zelenskyy because Zelenskyy is not Ukraine's legitimate president!

Putin, as part of a price for peace, wants to have a pro-Russian government installed in Kiev and the Russian language made an official language in Ukraine.

Putin has already stated that Ukrainians are really Russians and that there is no such thing as a Ukrainian people or culture.

So he wishes to commit cultural as well as political genocide in Ukraine, although he isn't honest enough to say it so bluntly.

At best, Ukraine will be reduced to Russian satellite status like Belorus.

At worst, Ukraine will be absorbed into Russia and cease to exist politically or culturally.

The latter is the most likely result.

And despite the well-laid plans of mice, men, European "leaders" and The Donald, there won't be any meeting between Putin and Zelenskyy any time soon.

If ever.

Once again, The Donald has failed to deliver.

But that is because he doesn't really care about the death and destruction in Ukraine.

Or anywhere, for that matter.

The Donald wants to have his tender ego caressed by cheap accolades that he is a great man, but he doesn't have the courage to take on Putin and impose a peace and end the war in Ukraine.

Remember, The Donald promised to end the war there on day one of his second administration.

And he has failed.

So, the killing goes on in Ukraine on a daily basis, leading to its inevitable conclusion: the extinction of Ukraine.

The European Union and the US are impotently watching this catastrophe.

Perhaps The Donald will have a better ego-boost when he visits Vlad in Moscow.

After all, The Donald is as fascinated by Vlad as is a bird by a snake.

Maybe they will hail him as a hero there.

Not too many other places do.

And not the sort that you would let sit on your toilet, let alone invite for dinner.

Perhaps it's time for the person who wrote "The Art of the Deal," attributed to The Donald but clearly NOT written by him, to go back and revise a few chapters.
