More "No Kings" Protests Today: An Exercise in Romantic Self Indulgence!

Yawn.

The liberal loonies are staging another series of "No Kings" protests today to indicate their displeasure with the antics of US president Donald Trump.

Like their actions will change anything.

But it does give them something to do, exercising animal energies that would be put to better use by cleaning their lawns and houses, doing their laundry and writing letters to their congressmen.

To them, this is more fun.

Admittedly, bigger cities like New York City and places like California will probably see tens of thousands of woke progressive liberals protesting against The Donald, but those places are just off the coast of Planet Earth.

It's not hard to get liberals there to protest anything and everything.

Unfortunately, there are several flaws with the protesters' way of thinking that their little "do" will accomplish anything.

The Donald rarely, if ever, listens to anyone and regards dissent against his divine purpose as either heretical or treasonous or both.

His staff and hard-core followers of the MAGA variety feel very much the same way, so the protesters will not influence them one jot.

Rank and file Republicans might not agree with the president on everything (I don't), but they see the alternative as merely a short route to chaos.

Woke progressive liberals thrive in chaos, like flies on shit.

The protesters will have no effect on them, either.

The only people these protesters will "impress" are of their own ilk and, frankly, they don't need to organize protests to do that.

But exhibitionists at heart, they have the need to express themselves in public.

This will give them some media coverage, especially with the liberal news agencies, give a few of them photo opportunities that they can put in their scrapbooks along with their mugshots and create a few "heroes" and perhaps even some "martyrs."

But only in a very, very small way.

Frankly, I don't really care what the protesters do, since that is their right as well as to assemble freely as long as they don't litter and block the streets, making nuisances of themselves to people who want simply to go about their own lives without being blocked or stopped or harangued by anyone.

Which generally happens in the better attended protests.

And can result in violence and arrests.

That way they will have their martyrs.

And tomorrow?

Well, tomorrow is Palm Sunday, a holy day for Christians and the start of Holy Week. 

The Donald will remain President of the United States.

His war mongering cabinet will remain intact.

His war against Iran will continue.

Gasoline prices will continue to rise, even though we don't import oil from the Persian Gulf.

But the protesters who didn't get themselves arrested will have sore feet and a feeling that they have accomplished something besides creating litter.

Isn't that special?

I think that I will watch "Animal House" instead.
