As the Stomach Turns: Why Are We Still fighting a War That The Donald Told US We Already Won?

The answer is simple: We didn't. 

Having been goaded into this latest war against Iran by Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, both The Donald and Benny expected a quick victory.

Massive bombings of both military and civilian targets were supposed to cause Iran to sue for peace on both The Donald and Benny's terms, which were unconditional surrender.

It didn't happen.

The war was supposed to cause Iran's regime to collapse.

It didn't happen.

The war was supposed to end the theocracy of the ayatollahs and substitute a puppet leader subservient to Benny and The Donald.

It didn't happen.

Both The Donald and Benny broadcast encourage to the Iranian people to rise against their government.

It didn't happen.

Here it became clear that both men were deluding themselves.

The Iranian government controls the state news media and social media. 

The exhortations of Benny and The Donald to rise against the ayatollahs and take control of their government never reached the vast majority of the Iranian people.

They DID reach Iran's expatriate community, which has no role in Iran's government, so that proved to be a waste of time.

Furthermore, with so many civilian targets being bombed, like schools, hospitals and residences, it is doubtful that the majority of Iranians would choose to be supportive or heed the demands of people who were killing them.

That was another fatal flaw in the thinking of Benny and The Donald, which they simply cannot understand.

Both men have enormous egos that overwhelmed whatever common sense they might have possessed, which probably wasn't much to begin with.

Neither of these two men understood the resilience of the majority of Iranians to being attacked by outsiders, both of whom they would classify as infidels whose demands deserved no such consideration.

Worse is that neither Benny nor The Donald counted on Iran's counterattack occurring within mere hours of their initial assault. 

All of Iran's Arab neighbors in the Gulf have now been subjected to bombardment by Iran, enlightening them to the fact that the US cannot protect them.

Iran's closing of the Persian Gulf at the Strait of Hormuz prevents 20% of the world's oil supply from its customers, helping to strain the global economy to the breaking point.

Which is Iran's plan, to make the war too expensive for The Donald and Benny to continue, because everything related to oil and shipping other products from the Gulf States will increase so dramatically in price that their usual customers will not be able to afford them...or as much of them as they need.

Even the US has felt this pinch, despite the fact that we import no oil from Iran. Our gasoline, grocery and retail prices have shot up accordingly as an unforeseen consequence of The Donald and Benny's latest war against Iran.

The Donald then "graciously" relaxed sanctions against countries buying Russian oil to help alleviate the oil shortage.

Apart from providing Russia's Putin with much needed funds to fight his war of aggression against Ukraine, this tactic will provide only a drop in the bucket of the world's needs.

Still, The Donald stated that we won the war, only we didn't win enough.

We didn't win at all.

By demanding that Iran surrender unconditionally, which is part and parcel of the Trump regime's acceptance and promotion of the New Barbarism, Iran's leadership and a good many of the Iranian people feel that they have nothing left to lose.

So, Iran will continue with their missile and drone campaigns against US allies in the Middle East, returning the "favor" that The Donald and Benny gave them.

Despite all of Mossad's intelligence gathering in Iran, as well as our own, nobody really knows how much military capability Iran has.

And now the Donald is planning to put boots on the ground in Iran, which will merely result in more US service people losing their lives in a war most of the American people didn't want in the first place.

In fact, this action is an undeclared war, since only the US Congress and Senate can approve and declare war.

So far, this war is costing the US $2 billion a day when we already have an unsustainable debt of nearly $40 trillion!

Iran's leadership is definitely on to something!

We're still fighting a war that we have already won because we haven't won it.

The Donald and Benny's statements about the war are ever so much bullshit.

This war will not end quickly.

Civilians are already being killed.

The global economy is in a state of crisis.

American troops will be sent into Iran, where many more will die.

But The Donald and Benny have what they wanted: War with Iran.

That has now entered its third week.

A war that we have "won" in a few days.

Only we didn't.

The Donald and Benny were hoping for a quick victory that they could spin into that had saved the world and the world should be grateful to them, never mind how many international laws they ignored and violated.

In that, they behaved similarly to the German empire and the Habsburg Monarchy at the start of World War I.

They believed that it would be over in a few weeks or a few months, at most.

They thought of the war as eine angenehme Herbstwanderung (a pleasant autumn hike).

It wasn't.

It spread out for more than four years, killed millions of combatants and civilians, disrupted their economies and ultimately led to their destruction.

The megalomania of both The Donald and Benny forced them into a war that can only be solved by the complete destruction of Iran.

Anything less would cause them to lose face.

They cannot simply destroy Iran's military and oil producing capabilities, declare victory (as The Donald has already done) and then leave, spinning it into a victory.

Iran knows this which is why they are willing to disrupt the global economy for years by preventing Gulf oil from flowing.

They have nothing left to lose and everything to gain by these extreme measures.

For all of The Donald's blustering, he knows this, too.

Hence his frustration at having to continue the war just to save face and salve his ego, as bullies do.

Therefore, he and Benny will continue the war until the heavens fall.

And, frankly, neither of them cares about that possibility.

Who wins when the world lies in ruins?

Black comedy doesn't get much blacker than this.
