The Family That Preys Together...

By now, everyone in the Rochester area has heard that Mayor Warren's husband, Tim Granison, had been arrested on drug trafficking and illegal weapons charges.

The New York State Police, after a seven month investigation, raided their home, confiscating $100 thousand in cash, 2 kilos of cocaine and 2 firearms.

There were also two other illegal firearms found in the course of the investigation besides the two found in the mayor's home.

Six other people were arrested that day, including the mayor's cousins, the Siplins, pere et fils.

Mayor Warren has gone on record as saying that she and Tim  have been separated "for years," despite sharing the same home for their daughter's sake; that she didn't know anything about what was going on; and that she was innocent of any wrongdoing.

Methinks the lady doth protest too much.

She didn't know what was going on under her own roof? And in her own bedroom?

There is a difference between not knowing what is going on and turning a blind eye.

She has been turning blind eyes towards the illegal behavior of her closest political associates since the day she took office.

That includes the behavior of some of her own relatives.

Today, federal prosecutors announced that the leader of the local drug distribution ring was none other than her own cousin, Jason Siplin pere.

Tim Granison was not the prime mover and shaker in this illegal enterprise, although he was clearly involved.

Mayor Warren has always been close to her relatives. Another cousin is the pastor of her church.

Her family is large, and its size might have allowed some of the members participating in criminal activities to get lost in the crowd, so she wouldn't have noticed.

Just like she didn't notice that Uncle Reggie was driving her in excess of 90 MPH during a blizzard and ticketed twice that day, during the first few weeks of her administration.

But that was hard to swallow.

But that will ultimately be her defense, as ridiculous as it sounds.

Yet, somehow, her own husband was connected to the Siplins without her knowing about it.

What could be more natural and unremarkable about families getting together?

What we are seeing is a an all-Black, low-budget remake of the Sopranos, a TV crime family.

Well, the family that preys together, stays together.

Maybe.

The mayor reiterated today that she threw her husband to the wolves.

I'm sure poor Tim has lots of interesting tales to tell.
