Finding the Right Puppet to Run Against Morelle: La'Ron Singletary.

In their euphoria over Tuesday's  national rejection of the hideous Democratic political philosophy known as "Bidenism," the Monroe County, NY GOP seems to have taken leave of their senses.

One of the local proponents of Bidenism is none other than Congressman Joe Morelle, a long-time professional career politician and head honcho of the elitist faction of the local Democratic Party.

Morelle is anathema to local Republicans and quite a few Democrats, especially minority Democrats.

One of his acolytes lost their election bid on Tuesday to Republicans.

That one was his own son, Little Joe.

Morelle pere comes up for re-election to the 25th congressional district next year.

Keeping this in mind and intoxicated by national GOP victories, the Monroe County, NY GOP has chosen their candidate to run against Morelle: Rochester's disgraced and dispossessed police chief, La' Ron Singletary.

I will not waste much time or space on the subject of Singletary, since he has been the subject of several blogs in my series.

It is sufficient to say that Singletary and his persona were the creation of the now equally disgraced Mayor Warren of Rochester and her Communications Czar, dutifully walked behind her like a pet dog and was her co-conspirator in the conspiracy of silence regarding the death of Daniel Prude while in police custody last year.

As a wholly subservient police chief in an anti-cop city administration, Singletary's position was incongruous to say the least which finally led to his resignation in September 2020 and subsequent firing days later, before his resignation became effective, by Mayor Warren.

It was this act that made him look like a martyr in some people's eyes.

Only he was no martyr and is undeserving of sympathy.

But this is why Bernie Iacovangelo, the current chairman of the Monroe County, NY GOP sought him out as a candidate to run against Joe Morelle.

Singletary has name recognition.

And he's Black as opposed to the White elitist Joe Morelle.

This, Iacovangelo thinks, will tug at the heart strings of Black and minority voters in the City of Rochester, a place that he has never much concerned himself with since he left it decades ago.

Iacovangelo's lack of concern for Rochester can easily be seen by the total absence of his committee's support for the three Republican candidates who ran for, and lost, three seats on Rochester's City Council.

Nor was his support for suburban Republican candidates much discernable. Where they won, it was no thanks to the GOP chairman.

But this is different, as it is taking a stab at Morelle, and that is not an opportunity to be missed.

And Singletary has proven to be easily suggestable and manipulatable under the Warren regime, so being talked into re-registering as a Republican caused him no partisan pain, especially with the prize of a congressional seat being dangled before his eyes like a shiny toy.

Bernie got what he wanted, a Black puppet to run against Morelle, and almost overnight Singletary espoused the blessings of Conservatism, although he let terrorists riot, vandalize and loot Rochester to their hearts' content last summer.

Not a good endorsement for a law-and-order type of man.

An added, and probably unwanted, side effect of Singletary's running for Congress is that it will also prolong the memories of the Warren Administration, and his part in it, which is NOT a positive thing, given the ammunition it will provide Morelle in the upcoming campaign.

No wonder Morelle seemed unimpressed and unexcited.

But Bernie is and also seems to be willing to provide the kind of support he deprived real Republicans of during their election campaigns.

This is delighting Singletary, who is enjoying this most recent stint of being patronized by big political people, failing to realize he is merely a puppet, a token to be used against a political enemy by a shrewd Conservative playing the race card in a perverted way.

Apart from that, Singletary doesn't count for much else.

And if he loses against Morelle, what future as a Republican does he have? Not much, really.

In the meantime, dance for us, Uncle Tom!
