Scraping the Bottom of the Democrats' Barrel: Mary Lupien to Run for Mayor of Rochester, New York!

Bienvenue dans mon cauchemar!

The ongoing political clown show in Rochester, New York continues with the announcement by City Councilwoman Mary Lupien that she will run for the office of Mayor of Rochester!

Fancy that!

One of the two doyennes of the political, social and economic perversion that is woke progressive liberalism, Crazy Mary wants to mount the rickety mayoral throne of a dying city!

The other doyenne is none other than former TV news personality Rachel Barnhart, who now infests the Monroe County Legislature.

La Barnhart also ran for mayor in 2017, where her grasp exceeded her reach and never got the Democratic endorsement.

Perhaps that's where Crazy Mary got the idea to run for mayor this time around.

Their "sister act" is most notable for its anti-cop attitude and its promotion of a DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) agenda, which is opposed to equality of opportunity while supporting equality of outcome.

In layman's terms, supporting quota hiring based on race, color, sex and sexual orientation regardless of competence.

Which is exactly what Rochester doesn't need.

But it's worked for both of them so far.

At least they keep getting re-elected. That's all that matters.

I have described their antics in previous blogs, so feel free to peruse them,

Rochester is controlled by the Democrats and has been for more than forty years. It is supposedly merely a coincidence that is when Rochester hit the skids and started to die?

Too many coincidences are too coincidental.

And most Democrats are terminally infected with woke progressive liberalism, no matter how badly it has failed here and elsewhere and nothing can knock any sense into them.

Which is probably why most civilized western "democracies" are rejecting it, although Rochester, now merely a provincial backwater in a dying state, still embraces it.

Crazy Mary's media post stated that she wants to "increase civic engagement by increasing transparency of the legislative process and to govern alongside the community!"

Nice words. Glittering generalities that sound good and mean nothing.

She also stated that she will make her official announcement at the end of January.

So why did she need to post on social media now? To scare other potential candidates away?

There are already two other Democratic candidates seeking the mayoral throne: Mahweak Evans, the current mayor already sitting there, and Shashi Sinha, a local businessman who nobody ever heard of before.

What is important to note here is that all three are DEI candidates: a Black man, an Indian immigrant and a woman.

Anyone who doesn't like them will be branded racist, xenophobic or sexist.

And it will be hard for Rochester's various Democratic committees to choose between which of them to endorse without offending some minority.

And there still might be more candidates crawling out of the woodwork to claim the Democratic nod.

Of course, there are no Republican candidates for mayor yet, and there probably won't be any.

Democrats would rather vote for a Hitler with a D in front of his name on the ballot rather than a Jesus Christ with an R in front of his.

In Rochester, anyway.

But still, one wonders why the Democrats couldn't come up with a better selection.

After all, the job of mayor isn't really that difficult. The city's bureaucracy is what keeps Rochester going. That is true of any regime, no matter how incredibly stupid or inept or evil the elected leader is.

And the last decent mayor Rochester had was Tom Ryan, more than thirty years ago.

Though dying, Rochester still keeps functioning, more or less, at least enough so that even if people grumble, they are unwilling to undertake making serious changes to city government and elect better people to political office.

Oh, well.

It looks like I will be writing in my candidate for mayor again this year, perhaps Leticia Astacio, because one thing is clear: it really doesn't matter who, or what, gets elected to the office of mayor in Rochester.

Rochester's best days are long behind us.
