The Darkness at the End of the Tunnel: Watching The Donald's Descent into Madness.

I will be the first to admit it: I voted for Donald Trump in 2024.

And in 2016 and 2020.

Between the evil Billary Clinton, senile horse's ass Sloppy Joe Biden and braying jackass Kamala Harris, I feel as though there was no other choice than The Donald.

And there really wasn't.

Because as bad choices as they all were, they are NOT the disease destroying America.

They were merely the ugly red rash that indicated the presence of the disease, like with syphilis.

America was hopelessly polarized long before these characters came along, puked up on the US electorate courtesy of both the Democratic and Republican parties, promoting their agendas through the use of demagoguery.

It was successful, but it boosted totally unsuitable corrupt characters to the highest office in our land, some might even say of the whole world.

Under these circumstances, it would only been a matter of time before a power-mad megalomaniac would achieve the presidency.

And that has happened now.

Yes, I have "buyer's remorse." And I admit it.

The Donald is clearly descending into madness and dragging down America with him.

A bully, blowhard and downright liar, he has alienated our nation's friends and foreign allies to no real purpose, arguing that it part of his "America First" agenda.

Which hasn't benefitted America, which most rank-and-file citizens are now discovering, to their dismay.

The Trump family, on the other hand, has been making hundreds of millions of dollars since The Donald's return to the White House.

The "peace president" has involved America in foreign military actions, many of which have violated international law, which he has made clear means nothing to him.

Yet he is furious that he was NOT awarded the Nobel Peace Prize!

He has taken on the Pope and posed himself as Jesus Christ!

As for his and Netanyahu's war against Iran, The Donald claims that we have won it, when we haven't.

Which brings me to his latest pronouncement.

The Donald has now stated that anyone who says that we haven't won the war against Iran or questions his lies that we have are guilty of treason, making treasonous remarks!

From his mouth to God's ear, since The Donald hasn't promoted himself to Godhood. 

Not yet anyway.

But God serves a purpose for The Donald.

The Donald claims that God has spared him from the assassination attempts against him. Therefore, he has God's blessing and to question him is to fly in the face in God!

In short, it is heresy!

We have seen this kind of behavior from other dictators the world over since the end of the First World War, but I always assumed that our republic's checks and balances would preclude that here.

I was wrong, and our two dominant political parties are largely to blame for this state of affairs.

Both have become as corrupt as the day is long, and the professional politicians and johnny come latelies see politics as a way to enrich themselves and their families, as well as to sate their need to dominate others.

But no sensible person could have predicted that we would saddle ourselves with a clearly mentally unbalanced man as president.

The world sees that now, too, and is quietly disengaging itself from America, making the madman even more wrathful.

Since he stocked his Cabinet with similarly angry, bloodthirsty warmongers, removing him through constitutional methods is highly unlikely, if not impossible.

I covered that in a previous blog.

Where does that leave us?

Well, we are stuck with a president openly descending into madness, and his closest advisors aren't unduly bothered by it.

Which is a frightening repetition of Sloppy Joe Biden's regime.

Only worse.

And we have two and a half more years of the Trump regime!

The Donald can do plenty of damage in that time frame.

And he might just declare himself to be "President for Life!"

We should all be afraid. Very, very afraid.
