So the Fringe Element is Protesting?
The liberal news media in the United States had a field day this weekend.
Apparently, there was no other news that they chose to devote much copy to.
The fringe element in US society chose to protest the Trump Administration.
There were protests across America, planned in advance and not exactly spontaneous. The slogan the protesters used, among others, was "Hands off our rights."
My hometown, the dying city of Rochester, New York, had its protests, too.
The local news media reported that thousands of people had congregated in Cobbs Hill Park for the protest.
Looking at the photos and videos of the event, that number was more likely in the hundreds.
The upper hundreds, to be sure, but not as massive as they liked to claim.
They also claimed that there were thousands of people protesting in the Town and Village of Livonia, a suburb of Rochester.
The total population of that town and village is slightly over 7,000 souls.
Hmmm...
Was anyone staying at home in Livonia?
And, of course, bigger cities had bigger crowds...reportedly.
Getting back to Rochester, one of the news programs interviewed some of the protesters.
One such protester, a female named "Page," claimed that she was "exhilarated" to be at the protest.
I think she needs to find herself a hobby.
A male who was interviewed stated that President Trump was taking away "our" rights.
Who he meant by "our" is anyone's guess.
I assume he meant the "rights" of the woke progressive liberals...or whatever they presume to be their "rights."
Clearly the protesters' right to free assembly was not called into question, otherwise they would have been dragged off to jail like in Erdogan's Turkey.
Nor was the protesters' freedom of speech impaired, again like it is in Erdogan's Turkey.
They were able to shoot off their mouths to their hearts content about cuts to funding, rounding up and deporting illegal aliens, eliminating bureaucratic fat in government and ending DEI programs that resulted in ridiculous quota systems.
They were also bothered by the fact that the US now officially recognizes that there are only two sexes, male and female, regardless of what certain people choose to identify as.
THAT is a biological fact which woke progressive liberals choose to ignore.
I concede that the American people have a right to protest to make themselves heard.
I also believe that protesters should choose their battles more carefully, because the vast majority of the American people do not agree with them.
Personally, I don't agree with all of President Trump's agenda, primarily in the area of foreign policy regarding Canada, Greenland, the Panama Canal and the war in Ukraine.
But I DO agree with most of his domestic policies, which is mostly what these people were protesting against.
That was their right, and it was not infringed upon.
But it gave them something to do in a large group, thinking that their actions will be influential on American society and policy makers.
Well, maybe on the Democratic politicians, anyway.
You know, the people who can't define what a woman is and who also believe that human males can get pregnant and have abortions.
Well, cuckoo birds of a feather flock together.
But most Americans won't be swayed to their way of thinking, since the majority of US voters elected President Trump to his second term in office.
These protesters represent and support only the fringe element of US society.
And since none of the protesters in Rochester were beaten and dragged away by the cops, they will have to find different ways of achieving martyrdom.
Better luck next time.
