Seh die Welt in Trümmern Liegen! (See the world lying in ruins!)
99 Jahre Krieg
Liessen Mann kein platz für Sieger.
Kriegsminister gibt's nicht mehr
Und auch keine Düsenflieger.
Heute zieh ich meine Runden
Seh die Welt in Trümmern liegen
Hab'n Luftballon gefunden
Denk an dich un lass ihn fliegen...
These are the last lines of Nena's international hit song 99 Luftballons.
And they apply nowadays more than ever.
The old "world order" is clearly dead and the new "world order" hasn't quite worked out the way that The Donald wanted.
Yet he is the new "world order's" primary architect.
Surrounded by a war mongering cabal who are "yes" men and ass kissers, the world has learned that The Donald does NOT ask for advice of his advisors.
He gives them orders, to which most of them happily comply, they being no better than he.
The prime example of The Donald's cabal is Pete Hegseth, his Secretary for War.
The position was formerly called Secretary for Defense. Changing the title was a hint of the "peace president's" bellicosity.
And Hegseth himself is a warmongering, insulting and arrogant peace of work, an ugly reflection of The Donald himself, a seeming resurrection of Josef Goebbels.
The Donald's new "world order" was that he could bully and insult friends and foes alike to bend them to his will.
That he and his cabal could violate both international and domestic law to satisfy his overwhelming lust for power.
That the world would obey him and love him for it, no matter the danger to themselves.
That his pretense of being a "peace president" was not incongruent with his making war on seemingly weaker opponents.
It hasn't worked out that way.
The Donald's arrogance has earned him international censure even before his and Netanyahu's adventure in Iran.
His constant lying hasn't earned him points in diplomacy, either, not that he is anything like a diplomat,
He is merely a bully.
The European Union and NATO have made it clear that The Donald and Netanyahu's Iranian adventure has nothing to do with them and will not aid them, even though it has interrupted their consumption of oil and petroleum products from the Persian Gulf.
Petroleum products are also necessary for the production of fertilizers for agriculture. Disrupting that flow will result in higher costs (supply and demand) and ultimately reduce agricultural output, leading to food shortages and higher prices the world over.
This forced The Donald to swallow his pride and beg Russia and China for assistance in reopening the Strait of Hormuz, which they have no intention of doing, given their warm relationship with the Iranian regime.
Which made The Donald look like a fool on the international stage and only made him angrier and more intent on continuing his illegal war, no matter its disastrous effect on the world economy or the obvious cooling of relations between the US and its erstwhile friends and allies.
They are willing to negotiate with the Iranian regime for oil, whether or not The Donald likes it.
Which he doesn't.
The European Union is speeding up the retooling of its energy infrastructure to make dependence on oil from the Persian Gulf unnecessary, anyway, moving towards their own renewable sources of energy.
A huge amount of Europe's energy comes from Norway, which is not a member of the European Union and lessens its total dependence on extra-European sources.
Canada has started working more closely with the European Union and is breaking its ties with the US economy.
And while NATO has been forced to increase its military spending in response to The Donald's command, they aren't buying US made weapons and war materiel. They are manufacturing their own and have entered into trade negotiations from Canada to buy from them!
As for the Arab kingdoms along the Persian Gulf?
With Iran bombing and destroying their oil and gas producing facilities which, by their own estimates, will take at least five years to repair IF the war ended now, they have seen that The Donald cannot protect them from Iran.
Those states, all absolute monarchies with very low human rights scores, have been caught in the crossfire of Benny and The Donald's narcissism and a state desperate to survive.
Worse still, The Donald is planning to conquer Cuba and has effectively blockaded it from receiving oil and foodstuffs from abroad.
In short, starve them into submission.
Yet the war in Iran is far from won.
That fact is lost on him.
And when he puts American soldiers on the ground in his presumed invasion of Iran, all Hell will really break loose.
American lives will be lost.
And the complete destruction of Iran, which is what Benny has always favored and has been working toward will only continue a dangerous instability in that region that will not be beneficial to global peace.
While Benny thrives in chaos, it is doubtful that the American people would tolerate it.
Nor would most of the civilized world.
With the civilized world distancing itself from Trump, and therefore America, what benefits will this new "world order" bring.
Plenty...for Russia, China and Israel.
For the US, very little.
What good is being "king of the hill" when the hill consists of ruins?
The Donald didn't count on that.
