When Irresistible Force Meets Immovable Object, Lie!
It's no secret that The Donald and Benny's war against Iran isn't going exactly as they hoped when they started it.
Iran didn't collapse; despite the horrendous amounts of death and destruction The Donald and Benny have inflicted upon them, Iran's massive retaliation against them has proved that they might be bloodied but unbowed.
This fact has pissed off The Donald and Benny more than somewhat, especially since the allies of the US in the Persian Gulf and Israel itself are facing the brunt of Iran's wrath, which might be lessening but not completely abating.
The biggest problem with The Donald and Benny's war is one of credibility.
Nobody can truly believe everything and anything they say about their war.
That's because The Donald and Benny are inveterate liars.
Don't get me wrong, most politicians ARE liars, especially in supposedly democratic regimes that are subject to the will of their peoples and face re-election challenges at regular intervals.
Unfortunately, ever since The Donald and Benny started this war, The Donald has been more than just elastic with the truth.
It's event more blatant because he insists on shooting his mouth off daily about his war, changing the narrative to suit his momentary pleasure, forgetting what he has already said and insulting members of the news media when he is challenged about the discrepancies of his statements.
For instance, his war was not won within the first few hours he and Benny initiated it.
Iran did not collapse with the death of its ayatollah.
Iran did not replace him with someone more amenable to The Donald.
Even worse, when The Donald claimed that he was in communication with an anonymous "leader" in Iran (supposedly the former mayor of Tehran) about negotiating a "peace" deal, Iran promptly denied it, making The Donald look like a liar again.
As for NATO not joining in a war that he started, and was therefore the aggressor, The Donald went out of its way to insult the leaders of the other states that comprise that organization, which did not go over well with them.
Only Mark Rutte, former Dutch prime minister and currently Secretary General of NATO said that the organization MUST help The Donald in his war of aggression.
Rutte was promptly shut down by Germany, France, Spain, Italy and the UK, who continued to state that The Donald' and Israel's war was NOT their war.
Since NATO and the European Union have learned their lesson and refused to become The Donald's catspaw, they are distancing themselves financially and militarily from the US.
There is no help to come from them in terms of men, money and materiel UNTIL hostilities end, which is not what The Donald wants.
Hence his lie about Iran wanting to deal with him and his 15 point "peace" plan, which they have summarily rejected.
The Donald needs to get out of Iran, despite his sending 2,000 men to be deployed in the region, which will definitely prolong the war and keep the Strait of Hormuz closed, wrecking the global economy.
Boots on the ground will ultimately lead to the death of US soldiers (13 have already been killed since the war began four weeks ago) and it will be harder to end hostilities at that point.
Despite his megalomania, The Donald needs to end the war quickly because of its adverse effect on the election campaigns of MAGA Republicans in the upcoming midterm elections.
With a razor thin majority in the House of Representatives and a slightly better majority in the Senate, the Republicans are poised to lose both in November as a result of this illegal war, since only Congress can vote to declare war and The Donald went about it anyway.
A Democratic majority in both houses could thwart any legislation that The Donald might propose, and that is an eventuality that he wants to avoid at all costs.
He NEEDS to end this war, on his terms, and it's NOT happening.
So, he lies.
And he any Benny continue to bomb Iran while talking "peace."
Benny, on the other hand, needs to continue the war for his own political survival.
Unless Iran is totally destroyed, he is willing to continue the war, no matter what the cost and will throw monkey wrenches into any proposals for peace that does not include that fact.
So, where does that leave us?
The President of the United States makes statements that nobody is taking at face value anymore.
Our closest allies have distanced themselves from the US.
And Iran isn't looking to win a war they didn't start, but merely to survive it.
That is what they are doing.
The Donald doesn't understand that truth.
So he lies.
