A King De Jure Visits Our King Manque! And Who Cares?

King Charles III of the Disunited Kingdom and his current wife, Queen Camilla, began their state visit to the US on Monday.

Yawn.

It is lacking the tumultuous fanfare state visits usually produce because of the media circus produced by the supposed assassination attempt of the president and/or high-ranking government officials at the White House Correspondents Dinner on Saturday Night.

THAT incident has raised a lot more questions than the government has provided logical or believable explanations, which is giving the media plenty to concern itself with, to the exclusion of all else.

Yet less than twelve hours after the incident, it was announced the King Charles III and his wife would make a four-day state visit to the US starting on Monday!

While King Charles III had been invited to the US to celebrate our 250th "birthday," nobody was sure when or if he would come, given his health concerns over his ongoing treatment for cancer.

The idea of that visit seems ironic, anyway.

We declared out independence from the Disunited Kingdom and its monarchy on July 4, 1776, and fought a war against the British to achieve it.

So, a British king has come here to celebrate that with us?

And for more than a hundred years afterward the US was usually at odds with the British.

It was only after the First World War that the so-called "special relationship" between the US and the British evolved, in which the British have increasingly become the junior partner, especially as the British Empire was in dissolution and the Disunited Kingdom reduced to the rank of a third-rate power.

The Donald has become increasingly angry with the British government since the current prime minister, "Sir" Keir Starmer, allowed his Labour Party to actively campaign against The Donald in the 2024 presidential election.

The Donald became even more incensed with the British when they refused to happily volunteer to participate in his and Israel's war of aggression against Iran!

Even worse is Starmer's anti-monarchist sentiments, which didn't prevent him from accepting a knighthood from the late Queen Elizabeth II.

The Donald loves the British Monarchy and loves to hob nob with them.

It suits his vanity, since his own paternal grandfather was German gutter trash, a draft-dodger, bootlegger and pimp and would never have been accepted by the rarified institution of the British monarchy.

"Sir" Keir Starmer knows that The Donald hates him but wishes to repair the flagging "special relationship" between Britain and the US, so the anti-monarchist prime minister dispatched the king to repair his relationship with The Donald!

Ironic, isn't it?

And he found it opportune to do this immediately after this latest supposed assassination attempt against The Donald, which accounts for how rushed this state visit has been and the lack of real interest it has engendered in the news media or the general population.

In short, apart from the social climbing Trumps, nobody really cares.

As for King Charles III, as a constitutional monarch, he must do what his government orders him to do, whether he likes it or not.

I daresay that many other Americans feel like I do, that the concept of monarchy is anachronistic and hearkens back to the more primitive, earlier days of humankind's evolution.

We got rid of that institution 250 years ago and there is no reason to miss it.

Especially since we have a president with delusions of imperial grandeur who always exhibits a taste for emulating autocracy.

The Donald has already stated that he has been referred to as a king. He has also created images of himself as Jesus Christ.

The next step will be to declare himself to be God, since he's already taken on the Pope, since The Donald declares that he was the only reason the Pope was raised to that position.

Oh, well.

On with this boring show.

It's not going to help Starmer one bit and it is not at all amusing or inspring the most Americans.
